We finally received color accurate proofs for approval from the printer after weeks of back and forth. Should we use them again in the future I believe the process will be greatly streamlined from processes we went through with Gourmando.
Trade paperbacks are in house and shipping to Kickstarter backers now. If you ordered from IndieGoGo then we plan to start shipping when funds are finalized in May.
PROJECT UPDATES
2021 Steve Rude Sketchbook - currently running on Kickstarter. This is the only place where you can order the main and alternative covers for the same price. We do plan to run the 2021 sketchbook on IndieGoGo starting in a few weeks and running for 30 days. We anticipate having the books in house by the time that project ends.
We may not have the Gourmando hardcovers in house by then as production times are longer and shipping from Hong Kong is even longer. Unfortunately, finding a printer (period) for the oversized hardcover has been incredibly difficult and most US printers are charging around 4Xs as much for the print run making the project unaffordable - hence Hong Kong printers. Quality has been excellent so far.
Thuneworld (Nexus Newspaper V2) - This is now on the drawing board. The 2021 Sketchbook and subsequent mini projects are being done to support it as the final page cound is 97 making the cost this book around $65,000 writing through desigers inserting into book (2 versions again).
Nexus 40th Anniversary Compendium - We haven't forgotten about this and Steve is determined to have a book done before the end of the year. We have a designer who can start in May and we will be posting progress and other pics to Patreon as work on the book progresses. We will take this to Kickstarter then IndieGoGo once the book is COMPLETE and ready for the printer. It will be a 9x12 hardcover and (hopefully) printed in the USA or Canada for the fastest turnaround time.
